Grandparent’s Day 2012

On the 1st of February 2012 we had some special visitors to our classrooms – some grandparents dropped in. We had a lovely afternoon listening to grandparents. After they were invited to the hall for tea and a couple of tunes from a musician.
Thank you those of you who dropped in. Looking forward to next year already

February Assembly

There was a great showcase of talent on display in the school on Wednesday 15th of February. All classes met in the hall. We had lots of songs and poems as gaeilge agus as bearla. There was even a show stopping dance routine to accompany ABBAs Dancing Queen, tin whistle recitals and a special powerpoint to celebrate Saint Valentines day.

Pancake Tuesday

Our senses of smell and taste were in for a treat today. Mrs. Cook, living up to her good name, treated all pupils and staff to her traditional pancakes. There was lots of learning going on at the same time :language lessons, measuring, cupla focail, traditions and customs. Hope you are all being treated to more pancakes at home.

Remember tomorrow is Ash Wednesday and the beginning of lent so ENJOY!.

Well it’s February 2012…. and we’ve just finished putting together some great pictures and stories . They’re all related to the Team Hope Christmas Shoebox Appeal that you worked so hard to help make a reality for so many needy children across Africa & Eastern Europe! We’ve seen such joy and excitement from distributions that we wanted to share it with you.

A very special ‘Thank You’ for everything you did to help. We’re already looking forward to the 2012 Team Hope Christmas Shoebox Appeal. Don’t forget that Team Hope run projects all year ‘round to help those in greater need….And we could always use your help with fund raising too !!!

The above are images taken of fifth class children creating their own Graffiti. Everybody in the class added a creative touch to everyone else’s sheet. We ended up with some interesting works of art!!

Midwest Radio Visit

We had a lovely surprise this morning in the school when Teresa O’Malley from Midwest Radio came into the school to interview the children about our forthcoming triple celebrations in Culleens – Digital Schools, our 3rd Green Flag and our Discover Primary Science and Maths Award of Excellence.
Tune in to Midwest radio on Saturday the 11th of February at 10am, 1pm and 5pm.
